AMURI COMMUNITY ARTS COUNCIL

Home Events Rules Grants Concerts Competition Exhibitors Market ACAC Gallery

The ACAC was set up on August 29th 1984. Anyone living within the Amuri is welcome to
join, membership is free and we have no membership application form - just turn up at one
of our meetings or ring one of our committee members to discuss attending and find out the
venue for the next meeting!

Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7.30pm. We try to hold them in a
different town each month (eg: Hanmer, Culverden, Waiau & Rotherham). The AGM is in
August.

Regardless of whether or not you want to attend a meeting (or meetings), you may want to put
a specific item on the agenda for the next meeting, if so just phone either the chair or secretary.

On 29th October 1986 a large Arts Festival was held in the Community Library in the grounds
of the Queen Mary Hospital, Hanmer Springs. It was a great success and led to a long string of
concerts and touring events hosted by ACAC.

Our first Market was held in 1988 at the Hanmer springs Pools over Labour Weekend. It has helped us to raise funds to enable us to run concerts, the Gallery etc. ever since.

We also run the Art Gallery; this is in the Hanmer Springs Community Library - part of the Memorial Hall complex.

Anyone is most welcome to exhibit there. (click on the Exhibitors button at the top of the page for more information.)

The first Autumn School was held in Hanmer Springs, the venue currently is Hanmer Springs.
